Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tint ever upload my photo anywhere?

No. Every filter, frame, effect, Background Swap, and Beauty retouch runs entirely on your device. There's no server for Tint to upload to, even for Pro features.

What's included in Tint Pro?

A one-time purchase that unlocks: Background Swap (color, gradient, or photo backdrop), Beauty skin smoothing, unlimited saved presets, unlimited batch editing, and full-resolution export & share with no lock icon.

Why does my exported photo have a lock icon on it?

You used a Pro filter, frame, or tool (Effects, Background Swap, or Beauty) without owning Tint Pro. You can still preview and edit with anything freely — the lock icon only appears on the exported/shared image as a reminder, and disappears once you unlock Tint Pro or switch back to free content.

Can I save my own filter combination?

Yes — adjust a photo the way you like, then "Save as preset" in the Adjust tab. Free accounts can save up to 5 presets; Tint Pro removes that limit.

How does Background Swap or Beauty work?

Both use on-device machine learning (no photo ever leaves your phone): Background Swap detects the subject to cut them out, Beauty detects a face's contour to apply natural, edge-preserving skin smoothing. Both are Tint Pro features.

I switched phones — how do I restore Tint Pro?

Open Tint → Settings → Restore Purchases. Since Tint Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your App Store or Google Play account, it restores automatically on any device signed into that account.

How do I revoke Tint's access to my photos?

iOS: Settings → Tint → Photos. Android: Settings → Apps → Tint → Permissions. Tint simply loses access to import new photos — nothing changes about edits already saved to your device.

Does Tint work without an internet connection?

Yes, completely. Every filter, frame, effect, and tool works in airplane mode. The only network call Tint ever makes is to verify a Tint Pro purchase.
